After working as a graphic designer for 20 years, Risa started doing yoga to help reverse the negative affects from being slumped over a computer had done to her body. Once her yoga journey began, it became much more than a form of exercise.
Risa received her 250 hour yoga teacher certificate in the Ashtanga practice at Downward Dog in Toronto with Ron Reid, Diane Bruni, Marla Joy and David Bruni in 2010. Continuously taking workshops in Ashtanga, Vinyasa and recently Budokon yoga, her practice and teaching skills are progressively growing and advancing.
Yoga has allowed Risa to build a greater awareness and form a stronger connection with herself, both physical and spiritual. She believes that it helps us to become more aware and make deeper connections with others and the world around us.
Risa’s classes offer a challenging and fun filled Vinyasa flow that leaves you feeling lengthened and strengthened and ready to tackle the rest of your day with a refreshed mind and rejuvenated soul.
To further her exploration of the body, Risa is practicing and studying Thai Yoga Massage. Certified through the Still Light Centre in Toronto, Thai Massage has enabled her to share an amazing form of bodywork that is a wonderful compliment to any workout or yoga practice.
